SECTION 1 – NARCISSI / DAFFODILS (Cut Flowers)
All cut flowers to be presented in a vase without foliage.
You may use cotton wool, tissue, or kitchen roll to support the blooms.
1 Large trumpet – Yellow.
1 Large trumpet – White.
3 Large trumpets – any variety/ies.
1 Vase – any variety/ies – not less than 6 stems.
1 Large cup.
3 Large cups – any variety/es.
1 Small cup.
3 Small cups – any variety/ies.
1 Bunch-flowered (multi-headed).
3 Bunch-flowered – any variety/ies.
1 Double flowered.
3 Double flowered.
1 Miniature.
3 Miniatures – any variety/ies.
SECTION 2 – GENERAL FLOWERS (Cut).
All entries to be presented in a vase.
You may use cotton wool, tissue or kitchen roll to support the blooms.
Tulips – 3 any variety/ies.
Tulip 1, any variety
Mixed Garden Flowers - 1 container (may contain foliage).
Camellias – 1 cut bloom.
Camellias – 1 spray.
Hellebores – 1 spray.
Polyanthus – 1 spray.
Polyanthus – 3 sprays.
Flowering shrub or tree – 1 spray.
Best Bloom/Spray – excluding any of the above categories 1 – 23
SECTION 3 – PLANTS IN POTS.
(Any type of container acceptable, Classes 26 – 44)
The size of container relates to the diameter of the top.
Narcissi/Daffodils – Bulbs growing in container under 10” (25cms)
Narcissi/Daffodils – Bulbs growing in a container over 10” (25cms)
Narcissi/Daffodils – Any number growing, exceeding 3.
Hyacinth – 1 bulb growing.
Hyacinth – any number growing.
Tulips – any number growing.
Amaryllis – 1 Bulb growing.
Any other bulb and / or corms growing.
Flowering plant – in pot up to 6” (15cms).
Flowering plant – in pot over 6” (15cms).
Pot Plant foliage – in pot up to 6” (15cms).
Pot Plant foliage – in pot over 6” (15cms).
Cactus or Succulent – in pot up to 10” (25cms).
Cyclamen – 1 pot.

SECTION 4 – VEGETABLES.
Any kind of vegetable (1 type only) to be presented on a plate.
44A 3 sticks of rhubarb.
SECTION 5 - FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS.
(Flowers need not have been grown by competitor).
Bear in mind that, for example, a miniature is viewed from eye level so
do not allow the arrangement to be overwhelmed by the container.
Dimensions are for width, depth, and height.
Please note that floral oasis is no longer permitted, please see the ‘Hints’ page for ideas.
An arrangement in a 400g (approx.) tin - baked bean size.
A flower arrangement – “A Spring Wedding” fresh plant material, accessories allowed 24” (60cms) space.
A Corsage.
A flower arrangement - ‘Going Green’ – fresh plant material,
accessories allowed. 12” (30cms) space.
A miniature garden themed on the Seaside, not to exceed 10 x 15” (25cms x 38cms).
SECTION 6 – CRAFTS.
Items in this section should not have been exhibited in a previous show. Photographs should be unmounted 7” x 5”.
A decorated pillowcase - any medium.
A knitted or crocheted flower.
A ‘Get Well’ card.
An ‘A4’ poster advertising MPHS either hand drawn or by computer. Not AI.
A photograph – ‘A Bridge’.
4 Photographs – ‘Spring Flowers’.
A photograph - ‘A Game’ – e.g. a sporting event or board game.
Home hobby – women – (no kits allowed).
Home hobby – men - (no kits allowed).
SECTION 7 - DOMESTIC CLASSES.
All cakes etc to be presented on paper plates (doilies are optional) and
covered with clingfilm where appropriate or covered with a clear plastic lid if the icing/decoration would be spoilt by clingfilm. Chutneys and
jams should be in glass jars with a waxed disc covering the surface of
the contents, then covered with a cellophane disc held in place with an elastic band. Jars should be labelled with the month and year of making

A portion of vegetable Pate.
Men only - A Battenberg cake (shop bought marzipan allowed).
A Carrot Cake.
1 jar of marmalade – any kind.
1 jar of chutney or pickle.
1 jar of jam / jelly.

SECTION 8 JUNIOR CLASSES – 8 YEARS AND UNDER.
All entries must be the child’s own work.

An animal mask – no kits allowed.
An ‘A4’ collage – under the sea – any media.
A small basket of fresh flowers.
2 fruit kebabs.
SECTION 9 JUNIOR CLASSES - 9 TO 11 YEARS.
All entries must be the child’s own work.
5 flowers made from an egg box presented in a jam jar.
An animal mask – no kits allowed.
An ‘A4’ collage – under the sea – any media.
A small basket of fresh flowers.
2 fruit kebabs.
SECTION 10 JUNIOR CLASSES 12 - 16 YEARS.
All entries must be the child’s own work.

SPRING SHOW,
SATURDAY 29th March 2025
Our twice-yearly shows are held at the 22nd Scout Centre, Arthur Road, Motspur Park, KT3 6LX. Entries are submitted between 09:00 and 11:00.
Judging commences at 11:15.
The Show opens to the public at 14:30 and cups and certificates are presented at 16:00.
Everyone is welcome, both members and non-members, either to submit entries or just to come and see the exhibits, have a cup of tea and a piece of homemade cake, and maybe win something on the tombola.
